Initiatives honour Zayed Humanitarian Day and reinforce EWEC’s support for the Year of Community

EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company), a leading company in the integrated planning, purchasing, supply, and system despatch services for water and electricity across the UAE, is donating 3,000 Iftar meals to those in need across Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent and in the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Zayed Humanitarian Day. This initiative is part of EWEC’s ongoing support for the Year of Community, reflecting its efforts to foster social solidarity, uplift lives, and foster a culture of generosity.
Building on its commitment to creating positive social impact, EWEC is also sponsoring a special visit for 30 underprivileged school children to KidZania, offering them a unique and interactive educational experience. The visit allows the children to explore different professions in a realistic setting, inspiring them to dream big and learn through immersive play.
Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Chief Asset Development & Management Officer at EWEC, said: "Ramadan is a time of unity, reflection, and generosity, and Zayed Humanitarian Day reminds us of the lasting impact of kindness and compassion – values deeply rooted in our nation’s identity. At EWEC, we believe that social responsibility is about actively contributing to the well-being of our communities. As we mark the Year of Community, we are expanding our initiatives to support those in need, while also encouraging our employees and partners to play a more active role in fostering solidarity. Through these efforts, we hope to inspire collective action and reinforce the values that define our society."
The 3,000 donated Iftar meals, containing essential food items, will be distributed to individuals and families across Abu Dhabi throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan. EWEC colleagues have also stepped forward as volunteers, actively participating in meal distribution to reinforce the company’s hands-on approach to community engagement. By supporting this initiative, EWEC is providing vital assistance to those in need and nurturing the spirit of Ramadan.
As a proud supporter of the Year of Community, EWEC remains committed to fostering social responsibility and promoting collective well-being. Through meaningful initiatives that prioritise inclusivity, solidarity, and environmental responsibility, EWEC continues to play a vital role in building a more sustainable and connected society, ensuring that the values that shaped the UAE remain at the heart of Abu Dhabi’s progress.
