EWEC Honours UAE Flag Day, Advancing the Strategic Resilience of the Energy Sector

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 5 November 2026

EWEC joins the nationwide flag-raising as the organisation advances a diversified, sustainable system designed to serve the UAE securely today and for generations to come

EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company), a leading company in the integrated coordination of planning, purchasing, supply, and system despatch services for water and electricity across the UAE, today marked UAE Flag Day, an annual national occasion celebrating the unity, progress, and visionary leadership of the UAE. In honouring this profound symbol of national solidarity, EWEC reinforced its strategic role in building the critical infrastructure that secures the economic growth, independence, and long-term prosperity of the nation.

Dr. Faisal Obaid, Chief Corporate Support Officer of EWEC, said: "Today, we honour the profound legacy of our Founding Fathers, the visionary foresight of our leadership, and the enduring solidarity that continues to inspire the nation. At EWEC, we carry this spirit forward through the strategic infrastructure we commission. By continuously deploying advanced capacity across a diverse mix of sustainable technologies, we guarantee the security and independence of our national water and electricity supply. We are actively shaping a highly robust, future-proofed energy sector that ensures the UAE will emerge stronger, fully equipped to sustain continuous economic development and long-term national prosperity."

To mark the occasion, colleagues from across the organisation gathered at EWEC’s headquarters for a solemn flag-raising ceremony accompanied by the UAE national anthem, and stood in unison with the nation. Reflecting the visionary foresight and collective perseverance that continue to drive the UAE's progress, EWEC applies the same dedication to the water and electricity system, driving the strategic infrastructure execution required to achieve the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategy.
