EWEC Empowers Next Generation of Energy Professionals on International Youth Day 2025

Young professionals make up more than 30 per cent of EWEC’s workforce


Through comprehensive youth development initiatives, EWEC’s youth are advancing sustainable solutions across the UAE

EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company), a leading company in the integrated coordination of planning, purchasing, supply, and system despatch services for water and electricity across the UAE, today celebrates International Youth Day 2025 under the theme "Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond" by empowering its young professionals to transform global sustainability ambitions into tangible actions that are shaping a greener future.

Recognising that youth engagement is essential to achieving key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), EWEC is equipping youth with cutting-edge skills and leadership capabilities that directly support national efforts in affordable and clean energy, clean water and sanitation, and climate action. Through their creativity, innovation, and understanding of community needs, EWEC’s youth are helping to advance a more sustainable and resilient energy and water future for the UAE.

EWEC's youth development strategy provides diverse opportunities for professional growth, offering access to leadership development, hands-on project experience, and specialised technical training in areas such as renewable and clean energy technologies, low-carbon-intensive water solutions, and digital transformation and AI applications.

More than 30 per cent of EWEC’s workforce is comprised of young professionals under the age of 35, underscoring its long-term strategic vision for a resilient and sustainable energy future. By equipping young professionals with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities required to navigate a rapidly evolving energy landscape, EWEC is actively shaping the next generation of sector leaders who will drive innovation and operational excellence. As the UAE advances toward its Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative, the active participation of empowered and future-ready youth will be essential in accelerating sustainable development and ensuring long-term energy and water security for all.
