The Al Sila Wind Project will be located in the Al Sila area of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, close to the existing utility-scale wind farm. It is a greenfield wind power project with a generation capacity up to 140 megawatts (MW) and will generate enough electricity to power approximately 36,000 homes across the UAE.

Once commercially operational, it is expected to reduce Abu Dhabi’s CO₂ emissions by 190,000 tonnes per year.

This project is a key element in the energy transition and sustainability strategy of Abu Dhabi and will significantly contribute to the UAE’s Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative, advancing the use of renewable and clean energy sources.

EWEC is continuing to invest in wind energy, and with the addition of Al Sila Wind, Abu Dhabi will increase its wind generation capacity to 240 MW, and contribution to the decarbonisation of the energy sector.
