Zarraf Solar PV is one of the world’s largest single-site solar power plants, with a generation capacity of 1.5 gigawatts (AC). The plant will supply clean, renewable electricity, powering approximately 160,000 homes and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 2.4 million metric tonnes annually. This landmark project is a significant step towards achieving EWEC’s target of increasing Abu Dhabi’s solar power capacity to at least 10 GW by 2030, contributing to the UAE's energy transition and decarbonisation goals.

The Zarraf Solar PV Project is a greenfield solar development located in the Al Zarraf area of the Al Dhafra Region in Abu Dhabi. The project will contribute to the UAE’s clean energy goals by supplying renewable electricity and supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions. This project is a critical component of Abu Dhabi’s energy transition and sustainability strategy, playing a major role in achieving the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative goals.
